Located east-northeast of Honolulu on the windward side of Oʻahu, Kāneʻohe is a community with strong natural setting (mountain ridges, bays, forested slopes) and a mix of suburban neighborhoods. Historically, the area developed from agricultural/plantation roots toward residential use as Honolulu’s suburban expansion reached the windward side. Housing is predominantly single‐family on moderate to larger lot sizes, with some condos and newer subdivisions tucked into the hillsides. Character: suburban with scenic surroundings, less dense than central corridors. The nearest large city: Honolulu (via Pali or H-3 highways). While I couldn’t find a specific average home price data in my quick search for Kāneʻohe, given comparable wind-ward suburban markets and proximity, one might estimate existing homes often in the US $900,000-1.3 million range depending on view/lot, with building new likewise commanding high end pricing.
